It's a pretty rug, but it slid all over the tile floor. That was kind of fun but probably not the best idea for an elderly women. But I put it on the concrete floor at the bottom of the basement steps. It doesn't slide, looks nice and if I fall down the steps it will provide a bit of cushioning to land on.
